NOTICE: 

Voters may drop their ballot off at an Official Drop Box, they are open 24/7 until 8PM on June 2nd.  They are located outside the Dorchester County Office Building, 501 Court Lane, Cambridge.  There will also be limited in-person voting on June 2nd, 7AM - 8PM, at the County Office Building.  Due to the Governor's Proclamation, this will be the only in-person voting location in Dorchester County.  We encourage anyone who can vote by mail or drop box, to do so.  Limited in-person voting is intended for those who can not vote by mail or need assistance.  Once the polls close on June 2nd, Unofficial Results will be available by clicking the following link:

At 9:00 AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 the Board of Canvassers for Dorchester County will begin canvassing the Vote by Mail Ballots cast in the June 2020 Primary Election.  Canvassing is the process of opening, reviewing, and/or counting ballots. 

 

Wednesday, May 27, 2020 Vote By Mail Canvass Day 2 begins at 9:00 AM.

Thursday, May 28, 2020 Vote By Mail Canvass Day 3 begins at 9:00 AM, Board Decision Meeting at 3:00 PM. 

 

At 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 the Board of Canvassers for Dorchester County will begin canvassing the Provisional Ballots cast in the June 2, 2020 Primary Election. 

 

These canvasses will be conducted at the Dorchester County Board of Elections Warehouse.  They are open to public observation; however, in order to adhere to social-distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the canvasses will be live-streamed on the internet.  To view the live-streaming of these canvasses go to townhallstreams.com and select "Dorchester, MD County Board of Elections".  Call 410-228-2560 or 410-228-7079 for assistance.

State regulations permit an individual to challenge an action of a local board of canvassers.  If you wish to challenge a decision to accept or reject a vote by mail or provisional ballot, call 410-228-7079.  You may only challenge a decision during the canvass at which the ballot was accepted or rejected.  A Canvass Challenge Form must be submitted within 1 hour of making the intent to challenge.
