Notice of Post-Election Manual Ballot Tabulation Audit
The Dorchester County Board of Elections will conduct the manual ballot audit of the 2020 General Election starting on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 9:00AM. (In case of inclement weather, the date will be 2/23/2021) This audit will take place at the Dorchester County Office Building Room 110, located at 501 Court Ln. Cambridge, MD 21613. This audit is open to the public, however social distancing guidelines will be adhered to, which may include limiting the number of people who can view the audit at one time, keeping any public viewers six feet apart from others, and requiring the use of masks indoors. You will need to call the office at 410.228.2560 before Monday, February 8th to reserve a spot to view the audit.
The Dorchester County Board of Elections will manually tally a sample of votes cast for the President/Vice President and compare the results of the manual tally against the results from the voting system. This process will determine whether the voting system accurately counted ballots during the 2020 General Election.
The State Board of Elections randomly selected the early voting center and election day vote center to be audited, and the Dorchester County Board of Elections randomly selected the mail in and provisional ballots to be audited. Starting on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, the Dorchester County Board of Elections will manually tally the votes for President on:
1. 561 ballots cast on #2 scanning unit on the first (1st) day of early voting at the Dorchester County Office Building Lobby
2. 1,811 ballots cast on election day at the North Dorchester High School Vote Center
3. 25 mail in ballots
4. 25 provisional ballots
